Bring Your Kids To #OIH2015

November 2, 2015

Children are our future, we all know that. So bring yours out to the Only in Hollywood Music + Arts Festival on November 7-8! While many of the festival offerings are limited to adults, we’ve created this handy itinerary with the younger generation in mind. Here’s our family-friendly guide to #OIH2015.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 7

12 noon The Really Awesome Improv Show

Voted “Best Kids Comedy Show” by LA Magazine, the Really Awesome Improv Show at Second City Hollywood is guaranteed to get your whole family laughing! Fun (and appropriate) for all ages 2yrs-200, this show, directed by Frank Caeti, features improv games that rely on audience suggestions and participation. You’ll come to entertain your children and leave feeling comically sated. We are the Bugs Bunny of improv! Come be a part of the show!  Buy Tickets here.

1pm Create Now Arts Fair For Youth

Kids are the artists at this special two-day event programmed by Create Now, hosted at the Los Angeles Film School. Young ones will have the opportunity to make fun holiday decorations with all the materials provided. For those interested in filmmaking, there will be opportunities to film and edit videos… right in the heart of Hollywood! Special thanks to sponsors Champion Real Estate and Robertson Properties Group. This is a free event!

6pm Rooftop Film Club

From 6pm-8pm, all are welcome to check out the view from the rooftop of The Montalbán Theatre while enjoying popcorn and soda. At 8pm, the classic film “Some Like It Hot” will be shown – while not necessarily appropriate for younger children, you may consider staying and watching the film if your kids are slightly older. Buy tickets here.

SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8

8:00am – 10:00am Hollywood Farmers Market

Enjoy the lively atmosphere of one of the area’s most beloved Farmers Markets, where kids can pick out their own fruits and vegetables or participate in childrens’ activities.

12:00 noon Cahuenga Crossing

This temporary parklet at the southeast corner of Cahuenga and Selma is an opportunity for the Hollywood community to envision new ways of interacting and enlivening our streets, parking lots and alleys. While you’re here, take a moment to enjoy the parklet, give your feedback to the organizers, and perhaps enjoy some treats at the very colorful Frog Frozen Yogurt.

3pm Art in the Park {ing} Lot at the Hollywood Palladium (Map It)

The Hollywood Palladium and Co-LAb Gallery have transformed the Palladium parking lot into an outdoor art pop up, featuring the works of dozens of dreamy Los Angeles artists, as well as live music from Rumproller Organ Trio and Slim Jefferson. Shop the pop up shops of Mowgli Surf and Mokoyubi, and quench your thirst at the outdoor bar. Peruse the art, eat, and hang.
