Children’s Festival of the Arts Celebrates 30 Years

July 29, 2015

The Hollywood Arts Council will present its fun-filled free Annual Children’s Festival of the Arts on Sunday, August 9, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 4:30 p.m. at Paramount Pictures, 5555 Melrose Avenue. Casey McCabe, on-air talent for AMP Radio 97.1 FM will serve as the event emcee.

The festival, presented by the Hollywood Arts Council, is celebrating its 30th anniversary on the lot at Paramount Pictures. The one-day festival is a celebration of the arts and culture in Hollywood. Festivities will include performances featuring a variety of music, dance and entertainment from around the world. An assortment of art workshops led by professional artists will provide children with the opportunity to create their own art pieces as souvenirs. The event will include the appearances of child film and television celebrities, face painters and strolling costumed characters (including Bugs Bunny from Six Flags Magic Mountain).

“This wonderful annual event has become a family tradition,” said Shauna McClure, Hollywood Arts Council executive director. “It is so special to have people who are experiencing the festival for the first time along with families who have been coming for generations.”

The Festival is partially funded by the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs and the Los Angeles County Arts Commission, along with generosity of other sponsors including: Paramount Pictures, Zimmer Children’s Museum, Hollywood Hotel, Hollywood Hills West Neighborhood Council, Central Hollywood Neighborhood Council, Children’s Hospital LA, AMP Radio 97.1 FM, Green Truck, East Hollywood Neighborhood Council, and Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell (partial list).

Food and drinks will be available for sale at the event. Enter at Van Ness Gate, where there will be ample free parking on site.
