Ending Youth Homelessness: A Benefit For My Friend’s Place
October 8, 2015
For one special night each fall, more than 300 business and philanthropic leaders, community members and advocates for homeless youth come together to celebrate My Friend’s Place and the champions of our community who make possible transformative opportunities for homeless youth in Los Angeles. An evening of festivities that include world-class entertainment, dining and auctions, Ending Youth Homelessness celebrates our efforts to work together as a community to end youth homelessness, one young person at a time.
Ending Youth Homelessness: A Benefit for My Friend’s Place returns to the Taglyan Complex in Hollywood on Thursday, October 15, 2015 with a special evening honoring the 2015 Champions of My Friend’s Place. Honorees include Chuck Freadhoff, Original Productions, Hard Rock Café, Ammunition Theatre Company, and in memorium, Heidi Sommer Vavrosky. The event will begin at 6:00 p.m. with cocktails and a silent auction, followed by dinner, program, awards and a live auction, and featuring a special performance by Cirque du Monde.
Since 1988, My Friend’s Place has been providing homeless youth ages 12 to 25 and their children with hope, a safe haven from the streets, and opportunities to move toward a bright future. My Friend’s Place provides nearly 1,500 young people each year with low-barrier, trauma-informed care that combines emergency and basic needs services with therapeutic case management, health and mental health services, creative and living arts programming, and employment and education assistance. When you support My Friend’s Place through this event, you empower our youth to overcome barriers, achieve lives of wellness and stability, and contribute to our community in valuable and meaningful ways.
