Record Store Day 2016

On Saturday, April 16, music retailers across the world will celebrate the culture of the independent record store. Here in Hollywood, you’ll find lots of activities for music lovers centered on the Cahuenga Corridor.
Amoeba Music, 6400 Sunset Blvd., will have hundreds of limited edition Record Store Day releases, special one-day sales, live t-shirt silk screening, gift bags with purchase, guest DJ sets, the prize wheel, and much more! The outside fun village will also include caricatures by René from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m., tarot readings by Maverick Mystic from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., and a vegan burrito booth with Pure Luck from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Guest DJ sets include Toby Dammit at 1:00 p.m., Lance Rock at 3:00 p.m., and Fred Armisen at 5:00 p.m. Click here for a full schedule of activities at Amoeba Music.
Up the street at The Record Parlour, 6408 Selma Avenue, their entire stock of vinyl will be on sale from 10% to 50% off, and all vintage audio gear is 20% off. They will have limited edition “Mickey Mouse” record players, dance performances by the Genre Girls from 7:00-11:00 p.m., and a live performance by The Crow Nuts at 2:00 p.m. Wanna DJ? They’ll have sign-up sheets available in the morning for those looking to show off their vinyl mixing skills both Saturday and Sunday. To close out Record Store Day, Space 15 Twenty will be hosting Record Store Evening from 6:00 – 8:30 p.m. There will be great tunes, prizes, and free beer for those 21 and over! MDNSGN will be DJing at 6:00 p.m., followed by a performance by Kevin Morby at 6:45 p.m., and a DJ set from Best Coast at 7:30 p.m.
