Satisfying Your Sweet Tooth, Hollywood-Style

By Kim Sudhalter

Hollywood is super sweet these days with a whole bunch of places designed to satisfy even the most hardcore sugar cravings.

First off, there’s the mother of all candy stores, Sweet!, located in Hollywood & Highland, above the Academy Awards Red Carpet Walk. Featuring dozens of individual “sweet boutiques,” the store offers every conceivable type of candy from Bertie Bott’s Beans to Hello Kitty Pez. And the store now has a special Robert Wyland section for fans of 1980’s marine-themed art.

Joining the party is the new Hollywood location of the popular Las Vegas-based Sugar Factory. The three-story shop, located in the Michael Rotondi-designed building next door to the TCL Chinese Theatre, has an impressive classic candy selection, incredible ice cream sundae array and private back room where you can throw the sweetest party ever!

Across the street, famed chocolatiers Ghirardelli have joined forces with Disney to bring you the Ghirardelli Soda Fountain & Chocolate Shop and Disney Studio Store (phew, long name). The store features all the delicious Ghirardelli chocolates, ice cream and sundaes you love—with a Disney flair. New Disney movie openings at the next door El Capitan are celebrated with specially-names sundaes.

If it’s baked goods you crave, try the self-proclaimed, and pretty darn amazing, “Best Cream Puffs in the World” at Beard Papa.  Or indulge yourself with your own custom ice cream creation at Cold Stone Creamery. Both are at Hollywood & Highland. Sweet!
